This debate focuses on kids who are experimenting earlier. Some experiments would consist of: drugs, sex, dressing inappropriately, makeup, gangs, etc. When I was in elementary school, kids were concerned with pokemon, tomagotchi, glowing COOL yo-yos, etc. However, we were talking about a this topic in my Research and Technology class and this girl spoke of a 7th grade girl worried about being pregnant. Currently, in my town, elementary and middle school kids must wear uniforms. This law was required two years ago. There were numerous problems with girls dressing too provocatively in school. Many would get sent home thirty times or MORE. It eight years ago that I was in elementary and middle school myself, but man things have changed. What the heck is going on with this world? What is causing this drastic change in kids' behaviors? Lets get some debating going on about this topic. |

I voted both media and parents. I think some parents have become irresponsible, and never take care of their kids, and I think this could be due to a reason. And the reason is because there are some many teens getting pregnant at 16, 17, 18.. they really irresponsible themselves and too young to take care of their kids, resulting in them allowing the kids to do whatever they want. Media is also a big deal, not because of movies nor video games those have RATINGS, but them with the freaking Brittney Spears and Parish Hilton and all those people are ALWAYS on tv and stuff, so I think things are getting worst -_- heck Im going to be 17 next month, never in my life have I had a gf, well yeah. |

i voted on media and parents, mainly for the reason above but i also clicked on environment, im not sure if thats the word to describe what im saying but its the closest. Couple months ago back when i was going out with my ex i really felt pressured to have sex, i didn't but i felt weird because i hadn't done it, i didn't even want to cos i felt too young but there was a lot of peer pressure to do it, it's the same with drugs and booze(though who can say no to a little alcohol) one of the reasons teenagers experimenting younger is cos it's like we feel we have to do it to fit in, it's sort of weird being totally open like this lol |

don't worry I totally understand, we'll listen to you Now a bit of everything I would say. I'll make a short say for each I guess. -Finished writting post-Screw the "short", I have too much to say haha. Media-A lot of porn on the internet, a lot of movies and tv shows related to sexual matter. all these Holywood movies have this useless nudity just to get more attention. And yes, they get more attention, and they don't even care if its just little kids. For example, if there was a kid who would see something like "If you are under the age of 18, do not continue browsing this document, it contains nudity"<--Something like that I dunno, do you think a kid would stop? nope, hormones just make you want to browse it even more. Parents-Getting very irresponsable lately--No offense to any here or your parents, I mean in general--Heck I have a cousin(im not close to him btw, not close at all, but its only him out of all my cousins) that goes away for a couple of days to his friends house even on school days and my aunt and uncle barely care, they just forget about him and say hi when he comes home. Environment-I, for one, in no offense to you guys again, hate seeing a couple kiss in my face. Don't worry, if theyre just somewhere kissing I'll find it nice and you know try to picture them well together, there's a couple I don't even know at my school in one year higher than me that I find nice. But when some dumbass in my grade gets a girl just because he show his abs and kisses her in front of me, it just puts pressure on me and makes me think that the girl is sadly a slut. Biological-Hormones, pretty much, and for girls, puberty starts at 9-10 years old if I remember correctly, I find that early, extremely early. Although I would have to say that when men step in, they're kind of worse(no offense again...), a lot of them can't control themselves and that is something I know a lot of people will agree on. Social-Well look at how some people dress, that obviously doesn't help little kids in controling themselves. It only makes things worse. Another thing, something very awful, the pathetic reason that usually goes by this structure "But everyone does it!" Drugs, smoking, weed, whatever crap that's handed out. If you can ignore it once, you can ignore it the rest of your life and that's all I do. A lot also do it because they think its "cool", but when they litteraly die 15 years(or more) earlier than you, they don't look that cool anymore. Other-Not much for other, just to get attention and to try to show everyone you're a man/woman already. Very good topic Ana

I agree with everything but Movies do have ratings, therefore I will not blame on the movies.. sure kids will sneak in.. but that goes back to being the parents fault. |

If you read my topic in Talk About Anything labeled To: Nondescript, I address a girl who is dressing very skanky haha. Well, it's just the times. I find it pointless to argue about it since nothing can be done widespread. It's really parents and the media's fault mostly. Parents let their eight year old girls outside to go to school in a frilly short pink skirt with the words "juicy" on it and a slutty no armed shirt with their belly buttons showing, it's disgusting. No wonder these kids get raped. |

First off, no person wants or deserves to be raped regardless of what they are wearing. My spin on this it is that it is media, biological, and parents are what is causing this. The media often shows actresses and depicts them as the true beauties of the planet. Some of these actresses are bad idols to follow because they do drugs, sleep around, etc. Younger girls follow this image to fit that false description of beauty. It is the same for young boys who want to be tough like what they see on t.v. Parents are too blame as well. Many do not take responsibility of what their kids are doing these days. It is impossible to control all of their kids' actions, but they can control what their kids watch, wear, etc. I know if I walked out with inappropriate clothing my parents would kick my *****. Thirdly, it has to be biological. I have read that obesity has caused young girls to reach puberty at a younger age. I did not get my period until I was 12 which was considered early a few years ago. However, girls are getting their periods at ages as early as eight years old. They did some tests on this, and research shows that obesity speeds up the developing process. |

Then I should've developed ages ago. Man, this sucks! Did I say they deserved or wanted to be raped? Re-read that. I didn't. The kids don't understand it attracts pedophiles. Don't put words in my mouth, please. Thanks. |

Movies? Not just movies like those, you've gotta blame the internet for their cruel **** stuff on it. Unless you were home along or secretly doing it, kids may try to look at bad media. |

Its up to parents to have parental control on TV and Internet, I know many kids who cant go to many websites because their parents had parental control. However I must say, that TV should stop showing people like Parish Hilton as if they are role models. |

Most things effect how a young kid is going to act, they are very suggestable, it could be anything from the media to what the kid over the road is doing. If your child saw a kid kicking bins over, they would want to see for themself what happens when they kick a bin over, now if you don't punish your child for it, they will think it's okay to kick bins over. The problem these days is that perants don't punish there kids for doing somthing wrong, you can't smack your child either. I know it might be wrong to smack a child but a light smack isn't going to hurt them and they will learn "Hmm, if I do that, I get smacked, won't do it again." it's like the common shock test. You aren't going to do it if it hurts you. Perants need to punish there kids and schools need more power to punish students, right now, you could kick a teacher and get away with a 7 day exclusion at the most, it's stupid. |

BBQ, I completely agree with you. A soft smack won't do any harm, they'll get the message pretty soon. |

Then I'll agree with both of you. Though the should they be taught about this stuff so they won't do it. I don't mean by showing them it, but discussing why they shouldn't try to do it.

Tell me, when you where a little kid, did you listen to your pertants on why you shouldn't do something? Talking is all fine if the child actually listens which a little kid won't do because they will want to experiment to see what does happen. By smacking them, you have taught them that it is a bad thing, in a crude but effective way. |

Answer = All There is no one reason to why people do things. There can even be combinations of them so ... it's just any of them. I don't even need to provide any evidence lol. |
